BASIC SEX OFFENDER AWARENESS
Half Day Event
While sex offender cases are unlikely to be directly managed by a CRC, it is important for CRC staff to have a basic awareness of the complexities of sexual offending. While the training is not aimed at upskilling practitioners to assess sex offenders, it will increase your confidence in being aware of the dynamics of sexual offending in their delivery of rehabilitation services.
By the end of this course you will be able to:
Demonstrate an initial understanding of sexual offending and some of the characteristics of sexual behaviour.
Demonstrate an understanding of a range of assessments and how these are incorporated into working practice in order to manage and reduce risk.
Understand how sexual offending can impact on your personal feelings as a practitioner.
Explain how you can positively contribute to the assessment and management of sex offenders in the delivery of rehabilitation services.
