Chief Executive Officer

Saleha was instrumental in setting up the new structure of LAURUS Development in 2013 having joined the Probation sector after a successful career in education and training allied to business development.  She has operated at high levels in multi functional organisations in both the private and public sectors; reporting to and operating at board level. She has secured LAURUS to be at the forefront of Learning and Development for providers delivering the Transforming Rehabilitation Agenda.
LAURUS is now successfully delivering Learning and Development to over half of the 21 CRCs – from managing their learning and development to providing qualification assessment services in their Community Rehabilitation Company areas.


Chief Operating Officer

Julia has over 30 years’ experience in probation and is well-qualified as both a practitioner and manager. She is dedicated to delivery of qualifying training arrangements for staff in the Justice sector.
Julia is a self-confessed disrupter, challenging ‘the way we have always done things’ with intention to innovate, bringing forward the best and ditching the unhelpful. All with a sense of humour to develop self and others to be the ‘best we can be’.
Strong on vision, using collective memory to promote future performance, Julia is a leader in forward thinking and works to reimagine the best for the justice sector. Cultural norms have been challenged and will need attention to rebalance professional life.
Julia extends this to encompass the voluntary sector with whom she has closely collaborated. She uses her experience of Transforming Rehabilitation (both the negative and the positive) to ensure that the best is retained and sustained. She has an acute understanding of the developmental needs of staff at the point of unification.


Business Operations Manager

Anni has 33 years of experience working in the criminal justice sector. She has undertaken a variety of roles within the Probation sector, from administration to management and is a trained accredited programmes facilitator and trainer. Anni has extensive experience in the field of staff development and has also undertaken work on a regional and National basis.
Anni has worked as the Business Operations Manager for LAURUS since its inception. Anni works in tandem with the Business Development Manager to bring any development requests from our customers to fruition. Anni leads on scheduling and allocation of resources to enable the delivery and evaluation of all LAURUS’ training activity. She is also the lead on quality assurance systems.
Anni has an ebullient personality and uses a problem solving approach to deliver results. She has a keen interest in development and is an INLPTA NLP Practitioner, a Chartered Member of the CIPD and has a number of qualifications in management. She constantly looks to continuously improve herself and the organisation and sees feedback as the best way of achieving this.


Business Development Manager

Utilising his strong communication skills and his approachable manner, Ed is LAURUS’ primary contact with our customers and is always happy to explore how LAURUS can meet your organisational development needs. Ed’s experience of working as a community justice practitioner allows him to relate to the development needs of our Probation and Justice Sector based customers.
Ed started his working life in Criminal Justice social work in Scotland before qualifying as a Probation Officer in West Yorkshire. His passion for training and development led to a move to Greater Manchester Probation Trust in 2009 where he worked as a Learning and Development Officer. Leading on a number of key training areas for the Trust while developing his qualifications and assessment skills, Ed moved into working with LAURUS keen to see the organisation expand its customer base. He has experience in the design and delivery of training and development centres and his CMI qualification in Coaching and Mentoring has been utilised to good effect in supporting individual learners with personal development planning.


Training and Development Specialist

Atasha has held several operational and leadership positions within the Criminal Justice System in the UK and Bermuda. She utilized her legal skills as probation prosecutor in London where she contributed to the team’s professional presence in courts and the team’s excellent target performance. A ‘can do’ approach to new challenges facilitated Atasha’s success working in teams where she delivered CBT based accredited offending behavior programs as a probation officer with the National Probation Service. Her dedication to continuous improvement resulted in being the designated single point of contact for working with terrorists and extremist offenders in the London borough of Hackney.
In addition to her role as court and parole report writer, Atasha served as union shop steward for the Department of Court Services in Bermuda. She returned to the UK where she was the probation liaison officer between National Probation Service and Cumbria Youth Offending Service.
Atasha is excited about her role in training and development where she can share her knowledge and enthusiasm for continuous learning by creating engaging training courses that inform and build professional confidence and competence.
