SKILLS FOR EFFECTIVE ENGAGEMENT AND DEVELOPMENT (SEEDS) FOR PRACTITIONERS

As part of the NOMS led Offender Engagement Programme, the Skills for Effective Engagement and Development framework was introduced focussing on developing practitioner skills and practice in working with offenders. This training aims to bring back to the forefront of community justice practice the importance of relationship building skills with offenders.
By the end of this course you will be able to:
Identify the theoretical basis of effective practice in establishing effective relationships with offenders.
Structure supervision sessions and utilise motivational techniques including pro-social modelling and goal setting.
Recognise how peer group learning can support continuing professional development in this area of practice.
