SKILLS FOR EFFECTIVE ENGAGEMENT AND DEVELOPMENT (SEEDS) FOR MANAGERS

2 Day Event

 

As part of the NOMS led Offender Engagement Programme, the Skills for Effective Engagement and Development framework was introduced focusing on developing practitioner skills and practice in working with offenders.  This training reinforces the fact that if change is not led from the top, the other work undertaken with staff is unlikely to happen. This event will help you as a manager to be clear about the SEEDs model and the implications for you and your staff.


By the end of the course you will be able to:

  • Refresh your understanding of the principles and practice associated with offender engagement and desistance.

  • Reflect on how and why you can support this in your role as a manager.

  • Understand the SEEDS model.

  • Have the opportunity to practice the required skills.

  • Be clear about the next steps for you and set personal goals.

This 2 day course is aimed at line managers where a CRC has chosen to adopt the SEEDS approach to practice improvement.
