Five years on from initial discussions and our bold move to set up as a mutual where are we now?
What a journey it has been – from fledgling company to a firmly rooted organisation that my team can be truly proud of. Supporting Tier 1 organisations to develop their bids for the provision of Community Rehabilitation services, LAURUS has been at the forefront of L&D support for the Transforming Rehabilitation Agenda. Today we are successfully delivering Learning and Development to over half of the 21 CRCs – from managing their learning and development to providing Qualification Assessment Services in their Community Rehabilitation Company areas. This is extended to learning, development and qualifications that we deliver to Youth Offending Teams, Local Authority Community Safety Teams and the Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise (VCSE) sector.
Our plans for the next five years?
We have been visionary in our qualification and learning offerings to date which are responsive to the changing nature of practice across the Community Justice sector. We will continue to develop and support the sector – our ESFA approval as a Registered Training Provider places LAURUS in a great position to deliver the Level 3 and Level 6 Apprenticeships in probation and rehabilitation currently under development.
Watch this space for our offering and more on this as Probation and others in the Community Justice Sector shape the modern approach to learning and development.
