Training and Development Officer – 2 full time posts

This is a fantastic opportunity to join the LAURUS Development team in an expanding and progressive, mutually-owned business. We are looking to appoint enthusiastic learning and development professionals to play a key role in developing our customers’ people, enabling them to deliver successful rehabilitation.

Taking responsibility for your assigned learning and development projects, you will ensure that they are delivered on time, within budget and to the highest quality. Additionally you will assess the competence of individual learners, providing developmental feedback and complying with the requirements of awarding organisations.

You will be an ambassador for LAURUS Development, whole-heartedly demonstrating our values and consistently exceeding our customers’ expectations. As a partner you will actively add value to our enterprise and contribute to the integrity and development of our business.

As part of your role, you will be required to travel regularly to operational units across England and Wales but we are looking for one post to be based mainly in the south of England and the other in the north. Travel and accommodation costs for any overnight stays will be covered.  Please note there will be an expectation to attend one team day per quarter at our Preston hub.

To be considered for this role you should be able to demonstrate:


  • Your knowledge and understanding of current practice in the Justice Sector, particularly in the areas of risk management and rehabilitation of offenders
  • Your ability to research and design learning solutions
  • Strong commitment to the learning and development of yourself and others
  • Excellent communication skills, group facilitation skills and a team player mentality
  • An unerring customer focus


We are particularly interested in hearing from people who have expertise in core skills, OASys and Delius and also from people who have experience in work with sexual offending and mental health. Previous experience in learning and development or as a qualified assessor would be beneficial. However, LAURUS Development provides its partners with ongoing tailored learning and development to grow their knowledge and skills. Commitment and potential are highly valued.
