WORKING EFFECTIVELY WITH CUSTODIAL CASES
1 Day Event
It is often difficult to focus on cases who are serving time in custody when those in the community place the biggest demand on our time. It is well-known, however, that the earlier you build a relationship with someone in prison, the better their outcomes will be on release. This training aims to equip you with the knowledge and skills required to effectively manage custodial cases both pre and post release.
By the end of this course you will be able to:
Identify the different types of custodial sentence.
Identify your responsibilities in working with cases while in custody and what is good practice for engagement and relationship building.
Identify your responsibilities with regards to the formal processes involved in preparing for release e.g. HDC reports.
Outline your responsibilities in setting licence conditions, recalls and oral hearings.
