In order to effectively work with service users to reintegrate them into their local communities, we need to understand what work other agencies do, and some of the cultural issues of communities.   This event will help participants to start to think about some of the key issues facing communities and how they might interact with them in order to more effectively integrate service users. The event will also aims to increase your confidence in managing the associated risks of remote working as well as focusing on the impact it will have on your own well-being.

By the end of this course you will be able to:

  • Understand how to work effectively in a community setting while adjusting to a more remote working environment.

  • Understand the role of working with partner agencies and the barriers to effective working.

  • Understand the role of families in supporting desistance.

  • Understand safe working practices during remote working including safe home visiting.

This is a 1 day course is aimed at practitioners who are not familiar with community working and would like to develop their understanding for the benefit of offender engagement.  It is essential for all new starters.
